DIY Toy Story Themed Birthday Party!

DIY Toy Story Themed Birthday Party!

I started going themed birthday parties as soon as my first born turned one. Dr. Seuss, Star Wars, Peppa Pig, The Wiggles, Lego, I've done it all. But the one theme I've always wanted to do was Toy Story. I had many plans - "You've Got a Friend Who's THREE", "To InfiniTHREE and Beyond", "Reach FOUR the Stars"... but alas, none ever came to fruition. Enter my almost five year old coming to me and saying "mom, you can do Toy Story this year". I was thrilled and set right out to planning and crafting.

Below are some of the decor I made - I've included links to items and some files to download should you like to use them for your own Toy Story themed birthday party!

I created an 8x10" poster "Aidan is 5" that I stuck in a frame. You can personalize the poster here, but please note that you'll need to purchase this font or a similar font in order use different letters/numbers!

For this backdrop, I used three pieces of foam core from my local dollar store, and attached a piece of light blue fabric I found on sale at Walmart. I purchased this font and these clouds from Etsy and cut them using my Cricut. The character images were from an old activity book purchased at Dollarama many moons ago (sorry!), which I cut out and adhered to some cardstock before adhering to the fabric. The cow print balloons are from Party City

To recreate Andy's room, I downloaded pictures from Dan the Pixar Fan and printed them. I took some old empty boxes and using crayons, recreated the buildings that Andy made. All Toy Story toys were purchased on Facebook Marketplace or at local thrift stores.

I created a "Make your own Forky" station - I made this 5x7" sign and stuck it in a cheap frame. The aliens cup was purchased from Party City, and I just stuck some compostable forks, red and blue pipe cleaners and eye balls in it so the kids could make their own Forky creations.

I set up a little tattoo station for the kids with these tattoos from Party City, and printed this 5x7" "Bullseye's Branding" sign that I created. You can download and print this sign here

I used an empty box to create the Sunnyside donations box, and added in some Toy Story characters. This Hamm piggy bank was purchased on AliExpress, and I added some gold coin chocolates underneath. The piggy bank is SO cute and really good quality. Just make sure you account for the shipping times when purchasing, it can sometimes take a bit! I used 8x8" shipping boxes for "attic", "college" and "Sunnyside" storage boxes, and tied some green army men that I found at a local thrift shop to some twine and hung them from the stack.

I made this Sunnyside daycare sign using a foam board from the local dollar store and wrapping it in the same light blue fabric I got on sale from Walmart. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and images.

I had WAY too much fun creating these Toy Story themed C-Andy Bar tents. You can download the C-Andy Bar sign here. I actually made TONS of Toy Story food tents as well, but didn't end up using them. You can download the entire file here, complete with candy food tents and food tents (there are some really cute ones here, I highly recommend you check them out!)

And finally, we have the Toy Story loot bags! I created a 5x7" thank you sign and stuck it in a frame, which you can download here. I just used clear loot bags from the local dollar store and filled it with a Buzz Lightyear Pez dispenser/Pez, stickers, and mini Toy Story toy (all of which I found at Dollar Tree), a tattoo, some rocket candies, some gummy worms "aka snakes in my boot" (download the baggie topper here) and a 3D printed key chain that I made for each party attendee!

I tied them up with little Woody boots with each child's name (you can edit and print your own here)

And that's it! I hope you found some inspiration for your Toy Story themed birthday party and enjoy all the freebies below!

Happy planning!
Amber
